While he thinks he is much loved by his public, Ian is sourly mistaken. He is on a constant but failing quest of vanity to be the most handsome skater in the world. He doesn’t seem to notice that the public is sick of his two hands down style, in fact they seem to be questioning hands down at all… being in control is like sooo 2000s. This dinasour is most likely going to have his pro-model taken away by the end of the season but he’s the one paying the bills so we gotta do it discretely. Just keep giving him compliments so we can go about getting this company out of the mud while he stares at himself in the mirror.
20 questions to Ian Comishin
1- What’s your full name?
Ian Comishin
2- What are your buddies calling you?
An overweight alcoholic.
3- Where and when were you born?
Kimberley, British Columbia in the dark ages.
4- When did you start riding skateboards?
Grade 1.
5- When was your first time on a longboard and what setup were you riding?
What’s a longboard? They are all skateboards. Are you saying a longboard is something other than a board?
6- Who were your early downhill influences if any?
In the beginning it was the cast of Thrashin, Shaun Thompson and Tyson Clive were my townsite bombing bros, then Jody Willcock just stepped everything to a whole new level for me.
7- Best spot you skated?
Too many to say, my favourite first descent to date is Santa Trega Mountain in Spain at the border of Portugal. Favourite street skate location has always been UBC Vancouver, most religious skate moment was riding Burnside in Portland Oregon for the first time and seeing Josh Evin destroy the place.
8- What is your ideal session like?
My favourite session is taxi runs on Devil’s Toy and the rest of Westmount with Dwayne Pereto. Its fun when JimZ is there with us too but he doesn’t like to run red lights or go the wrong way down one way streets.
Right now though my main goal in skateboarding is to find hills around the world that have never been skated before and run them for the first time. This is becoming my ideal ride; whoever is there to share it with me is perfect. Anyone!
9- Who’s your favorite rider to watch on video?
On Video, Ben Dubreuil and Matt Kienzle. Mike McGoldrick oozes in front of the lens as well as John Barnett.
10- Do you have a blog or website?, shoot the url:
That’s up to you Pierre! ( Note: It's coming!)

Haha, ummm, a fraction of a fraction. Lots of old school mates on there!
12- Favorite meal?
Homemade Pierogies.
13- Favorite beer?
My own from the basement.
14- What music makes you want to go skate?
Right now, Malajube.
15- Any musical guilty pleasure you are ashamed of?
I’m not ashamed of any music that speaks to me, I do wish to shame those who go into music mainly to make money… tsk tsk tsk. Art is not made for profit, art is the true form of recording history. 100 years from now nobody is going to be watching Wolf Blitzer or Anderson Cooper video clips about the Iraq war to understand what it meant to society, but they will still be playing NOFX songs about the same subject.
16- Can you drop in a vert ramp?
Used to be able to drop in switch, not so sure anymore!
17- What is your favorite setup right now and why?
John Barnett composite prototype because it is super springy, SGS trucks because they are super sloppy, and Cult wheels because they were super given to me for free.
18- What’s that little thing you do to your setups that makes them feel way better?
I am too old to make things try to feel better, all skateboards feel great once you’ve been riding them for a bit, you just need to learn the ride the same way you learn your women, figure out what they want too… and share your time together.
19- What's the best race you've attended and why?
Munnsville has always been my favourite. Mischo’s Vernon race is a blast too, even though I only went for the first year. Shak Attack and Zig Zag attack are excellent get-togethers, lots of laughs, Freddy Desjardins has made racing in Quebec fun!
20- Anyone you want to thank?
Everyone, I thank everyone out there, anyone who is interested in reading this has already been flattering enough to deserve my thanks. All the past and present PM and KebbeK riders are my family, they know this, they know they have a homemade beer waiting for them at my house and they can show up uninvited whenever they want.
Thanks Ian!
